What exactly is the field of “rule of law”? What has been its significance to law, policy, and international development for the US? And what might that look like going forward?

 

Join the Center on Ethics and the Legal Profession on Wednesday, November 12 3:30pm to 5:00pm in McDonough Room 411 for a discussion with Greg Gisvold, a senior rule of law and anticorruption professional with two decades of experience in complex governance challenges; Stephen Little, a current Georgetown LLM student in the International Business and Economic Law (IBEL) program who previously worked for 15 years with USAID and the Department of State on international business law, trade, investment, regulatory reform, government relations, and economic development across Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East and Asia; and Sam Gibson, a current first-year JD student at Georgetown Law who previously worked at USAID’s Ukraine desk and has a background in international development, policy, foreign assistance, research and analysis, and transatlantic relations. The discussion will be moderated by Stephen Horowitz, Georgetown Law Lecturer of Legal English as well as Senior Fellow at the Center on Ethics and the Legal Profession and founder of the Ukraine Legal English Initiative (ULEI.)
