Storytelling for Social Change film screening of Something for the People

Location: Philip A. Hart Auditorium
Date: October 29, 2025
Time:

Music is the heartbeat of every great social change. And in DC, that music is Go-Go. Join us at the next installment of our Storytelling for Social Change(This link opens in a new tab) series for a special screening of Something for the People(This link opens in a new tab) (2025). The film explores how the official sound of the city is catalyzing community action against gentrification, disenfranchisement, and over-policing. Director Sebastian Vizcarra(This link opens in a new tab), along with activists Justin “Yadiya” Johnson(This link opens in a new tab) and Kelsye Adams(This link opens in a new tab), co-founders of Long Live GoGo(This link opens in a new tab), will join us for a talkback after the screening. A short reception will follow.

Join us on Wednesday, October 29th, 5:30-8:00 p.m. in Hart Auditorium.
