Prof. Baeyens joined Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights in June 2014 and currently serves as the VP of international advocacy and litigation. She previously served at the United Nations from March 2012 to May 2014 as Political Affairs Officer in the Americas Division of the UN Department of Political Affairs in New York, covering the Caribbean region. Prof. Baeyens also worked at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in Washington D.C. between 2006 – 2012 in various capacities, including Special Assistant to the Executive Secretary and Coordinator of the Rapporteurship on Human Rights Defenders of the IACHR. A dual Belgian and Colombian citizen, Prof. Baeyens holds a Law Degree from the University of Ibague (Colombia) and an LL.M in International Human Rights Law from the University of Notre Dame (United States).
