Professor AnnaLou Tirol is the Deputy Director for the Strategic Operations Division of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) of the U.S Department of the Treasury. Prior to joining FinCEN, Professor Tirol was the Acting Chief of the Public Integrity Section of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). She received her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and J.D. and LL.M. from the University of San Diego School of Law. Professor Tirol clerked for U.S. Magistrate Judge Ruben B. Brooks in the Southern District of California and began her public service career with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of California. Professor Tirol served with DOJ’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training as the Resident Legal Advisor in Belgrade, Serbia and in Panama City, Panama.
