Professor AnnaLou Tirol is the Associate Director for the Strategic Operations Division of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) of the U.S Department of the Treasury. Prior to joining FinCEN, Professor Tirol was the Acting Chief of the Public Integrity Section of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). She received her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and J.D. and LL.M. from the University of San Diego School of Law. Professor Tirol clerked for U.S. Magistrate Judge Ruben B. Brooks in the Southern District of California and joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of California in 2004. Professor Tirol served with DOJ’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training as the Anti-Corruption Resident Legal Advisor in Belgrade, Serbia from 2011 to 2013 and as the Resident Legal Advisor in Panama City, Panama from 2013 to 2015.
