David Horwitz serves as a Senior Program Manager in the Division of Education at the American Chemical Society where he runs global campaigns to improve the public’s perception of chemistry. Professor Horwitz is an experienced communications practitioner with an emphasis in applied scientific, health, and organizational communications, and brings a strategic approach to digital outreach, community engagement, and program management. He has practical experience in science communications, research experience in health communications, and teaching experience in public speaking and group communication. Professor Horwitz is also an appointed Commissioner for the Mayor’s Office on Volunteerism and Partnerships and volunteers his time with various community-based organizations around Washington, DC. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from University of California, Davis and a Master of Arts in Communications from California State University, Fresno.
