Currently, Professor Tran is a senior manager in Baker Tilly’s Washington Tax Counsel office. In that position, she addresses novel and complex partnership and international tax issues faced by Baker Tilly clients. Prior to this position, she served as international tax counsel for FedEx and was a senior associate at the international law firm, Baker McKenzie, and the Washington National Tax Services office of PwC. She has substantial government experience: for six years, she served as a senior attorney at the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Professional Responsibility and Office of Chief Counsel, Passthroughs and Special Industries. She began her tax career as a clerk for the Honorable Elizabeth Crewson Paris of the United States Tax Court. She has been a member of the Georgetown adjunct faculty since 2009 when she first taught the course titled “Litigation of a Tax Shelter case”. She now teaches these courses: “Taxation of Partnerships” and “Ethics in Tax Law”.
