Currently, Professor Tran is an attorney-advisor to Karen L. Hawkins, the Director of the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Professional Responsibility. In that role, she advises Director Hawkins on issues relating to the enforcement of certain provisions of Circular 230 and litigation matters. Previously, she was the senior attorney-advisor to the Honorable Elizabeth Crewson Paris of the United States Tax Court. She has been a member of the Georgetown adjunct faculty since 2009 when she first taught the course titled “Litigation of a Tax Shelter case”. She now teaches the “Tax Lawyering and Professional Responsibility in Federal Tax Practice” course.
