Professor Madaj has worked in both the private and public sectors and has over 8 years of experience focusing on U.S. international and cross-border M&A tax issues. Most recently, she was an attorney in Branch 4 of the Office of the Associate Chief Counsel (International) at the Internal Revenue Service, which has primary jurisdiction over the cross-border M&A provisions of the Internal Revenue Code. Prior to joining Chief Counsel, Professor Madaj was a senior manager in KPMG’s Washington National Tax International Tax Group, where she advised clients on the U.S. international tax implications of structuring cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and spin-offs, entity rationalizations, and internal restructurings.

She received her J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
