Erik Pelton has dedicated his career to making intellectual property protection understandable, accessible, and affordable for businesses and entrepreneurs of all sizes and types. Mr. Pelton began his career as a trademark examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) before launching his own boutique trademark firm, Erik M. Pelton & Associates, PLLC,, with the goal of making the process of protecting a company brand easy—whether for a solo entrepreneur or a large international corporation—through the enduring ideals of great customer service, affordability, and clarity.
With more than 20 years of experience in the field of trademarks and more than 4,000 trademarks registered, Mr. Pelton has represented hundreds of clients in trademark disputes, and published many articles and videos on trademark topics along with the Tricks of the Trade(mark) podcast, and has served on committees and boards for many organizations including the American Bar Association, International Trademark Association, and Falls Church Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Pelton received his Juris Doctor from Columbus School of Law at Catholic University after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at Boston University, and is member of the Bars of New Jersey and the District of Columbia. Mr. Pelton also owns several trademark registrations himself, including IPELTON®, MAKING TRADEMARKS BLOOM SINCE 1999®, and THE NONTRADITIONAL TRADEMARK LAWYERS®.
