Adriana Vidal is the Senior Policy Advisor, Climate Change at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), with 17 years of experience in international advocacy, climate action, and biodiversity conservation. She leads a multi-country portfolio, advising governments and stakeholders on the development of national policies and legislative frameworks that translate global commitments into local action.
Adriana has extensive experience working with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners in both the U.S. and Peru, where she has provided legal counsel and strategic policy advice on issues such as REDD+, forest conservation, and the environmental and social compliance of extractive industries. Prior to joining IUCN in 2015, she worked across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors, advancing environmental governance and sustainable development initiatives.
Adriana holds a J.D. from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and an LL.M. in Environmental Law from New York University.
