George Everly currently serves as Budget Director of the Supreme Court of the United States. In this role, Mr. Everly manages the Court’s operating and capital budgets and works closely with the congressional committees and staff that have jurisdiction over the Court and its operations.
Prior to joining the Court, Mr. Everly worked in the United States Senate in various capacities, ultimately serving as Chief Counsel of the Committee on the Budget. His duties included drafting fiscal legislation in committee and managing its consideration and amendment on the Senate floor. He also participated in the Stennis Emerging Congressional Staff Leaders program.
In addition to his Senate service, Mr. Everly spent a year as a Supreme Court Fellow working with the Federal Judiciary’s national policy-making body and was chief of staff at the National Constitution Center, a congressionally chartered nonprofit focused on increasing knowledge and discussion of constitutional rights.
Mr. Everly received a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law, an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, and a BA in history and economics from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He currently lives on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
