CDR Winegeart commissioned in the U.S. Navy in 2005 and currently serves as Deputy Legal Counsel, Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
He previously served with Naval Legal Service Office Pacific, Detachment Guam; USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76), Coronado, California; Naval Justice School, Newport, Rhode Island; NATO Training Mission, Kabul, Afghanistan; Region Legal Service Office Southeast, Jacksonville, Florida; Carrier Strike Group EIGHT, Norfolk, Virginia and embarked aboard USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75); and U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa and U.S. Sixth Fleet, Naples, Italy and embarked aboard USS MOUNT WHITNEY (LCC 20). He deployed at sea and ashore in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Inherent Resolve, and Tomodachi.
For seven years prior to commissioning, he was a commercial litigator and co-owner of a small law firm in Texas.
