Professor Bulen is an attorney and internist practicing at Sibley Memorial Hospital/Johns Hopkins Medicine in Washington, D.C. Prior to attending medical school, Professor Bulen was Of Counsel to Safety Net Hospitals for Pharmaceutical Access, an organization of disproportionate share hospitals and health systems that participate in the Public Health Service 340B drug discount program. He previously practiced law as an associate at DLA Piper US LLP from 2003 through 2006. While at DLA Piper, Professor Bulen was involved in the defense of a pharmaceutical manufacturer in a “failure to warn” multi-district products liability action. Professor Bulen also has prior experience in trademark law. Professor Bulen received his B.A. in art history magna cum laude from Georgetown University in 1999 and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree from Georgetown in 2003 and is licensed to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is also a 2012 graduate of The George Washington University School of Medicine and a graduate of the Drexel University/Hahnemann University Hospital internal medicine residency program.
