Jennifer Ngai Lavallee is an Assistant Director in Georgetown University Law Center’s Office of Public Interest and Community Service (OPICS), where she provides public interest career counseling and support to J.D. students. Prior to joining the Law Center, she was a Supervising Attorney of the Consumer Law Unit at the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, representing low-income District residents in foreclosure prevention and debt collection defense matters while engaging in related systemic and policy advocacy. She is the 2022 recipient of the National Association of Consumer Advocates “Consumer Advocate of the Year” award. Before joining Legal Aid, she worked as an Associate in the Washington, D.C. office of the law firm Kelley Drye & Warren LLP.
Professor Lavallee serves as a facilitator for Georgetown Law’s “Lawyers in Balance” Mindfulness and the Law Program and as Co-Chair of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA-DC) Nominations Committee. She received her B.A. from Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College and her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
