Professor Simonoff is an Attorney-Adviser at the U.S. Department of State, where she focuses on international trade law. She has also served as an Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer US LLP and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, where she focused her practice on international commercial litigation and international commercial bankruptcy litigation, including work on the Madoff SIPA proceedings and Lehman Brothers bankruptcy proceedings. Ms. Simonoff also engaged extensively in pro bono work, including but not limited to asylum and landlord-tenant law. Upon receiving her J.D., Ms. Simonoff clerked for the Honorable Judge Thomas Buergenthal at the International Court of Justice. Ms. Simonoff has also published two chapters on the New York Convention in Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (Herbert Kronke et al. eds., 2010).
