Joshua L. Mogil is an attorney at WilmerHale in Washington, D.C. He previously served as a political appointee in both the Obama and Biden Administrations, most recently as Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General. He also served in various roles at USAID, the US Department of State, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, the White House, and at Capital One Bank. Professor Mogil began his legal career clerking on the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and on the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He graduated magna cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center and received his BS in International Politics from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service. He serves on the elected Board of Governors of the DC Bar, on the Board of Directors of the DC Bar Pro Bono Center, and on the Advisory Board of the DC LGBTQ+ Bar Association, where he most recently served as president.
