Katie Gottschalk, J.D., LL.M., is the Deputy Director at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University Law Center. Professor Gottschalk holds a Master of Laws in Global Health Law from Georgetown University, a Juris Doctor from New York Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado. At the O’Neill Institute, Professor Gottschalk works in on issues in the areas of non-communicable disease, domestic health legislation and aging and the law, and is currently the Institute liaison to the medical-legal partnership, a joint initiative between the O’Neill Institute, the Harrison Institute for Public Law and the Health Justice Alliance (HJA) at Georgetown University Law Center and the Georgetown University School of Medicine. Prior to joining the O’Neill Institute, Professor Gottschalk served as the Executive Director of the Center for Global Health and Diplomacy and Editor of the Global Health and Diplomacy Journal. Previously, Professor Gottschalk served as the Acting Director at the Dianne Abbey Law Center for Children and Families in New York. Since obtaining her JD, Professor Gottschalk has managed health and policy programs for multiple organizations including MergerWatch, Physicians for Reproductive Choice & Health and New York Law School.
