Larry Platt is a partner at Mayer Brown LLP and concentrates his legal practice in the law of consumer credit, particularly with respect to residential mortgage lending. His transactional practice includes negotiating purchases and sales of mortgage companies and mortgage-related assets; joint ventures; commercial credit agreements; and services agreements. In addition, Professor Platt counsels clients on federal and state consumer credit laws, defends clients in government enforcement actions, and represents clients in governmental public policy matters. Professor Platt is consistently ranked by Chambers USA and in 2017, Professor Platt again was listed under Financial Services Regulation: Consumer Finance (Compliance) (Star Individuals). Professor Platt was listed in the 2012- 2017 Best Lawyers in America guides in the area of banking and finance law. He also is a fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Service Lawyers. He received his J.D. from George Washington University in 1982 and his B.A. from University of Pittsburgh in 1976.
