Mark Opper is a principal in the National Tax Department of Ernst & Young LLP based in Washington, DC. As a member of the Partnership Transactions Group, Mark advises U.S. and foreign based multinationals on partnership and international tax planning. His recent speaking engagements include presentations for the ABA Tax Section, AICPA, DC Bar Tax Section, and the USC School of Law Tax Institute. Mark has authored articles for the Journal of Passthrough Entities, Tax Notes, Tax Planning for Domestic & Foreign Partnerships, LLCs, Joint Ventures & Other Strategic Alliances (Practising Law Institute), Bloomberg Tax, Journal of Multistate Taxation & Incentives, and other publications. He is the past Chair of the Passthroughs and Real Estate Committee of the DC Bar Tax Section. Mark earned his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University, his J.D. from Wake Forest University, and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia
