Mark Opper is a principal in the National Tax Department of Ernst & Young LLP based in Washington, DC. As a member of the Partnership Transactions Planning and Economics group, Mark advises U.S. and foreign based multinationals on partnership and international tax planning. He is a regular columnist for the Journal of Passthrough Entities and has authored articles appearing in Tax Notes, Tax Planning for Domestic & Foreign Partnerships, LLCs, Joint Ventures & Other Strategic Alliances (Practising Law Institute), Journal of Multistate Taxation & Incentives, and other publications. Mark served on the AICPA S Corporation Taxation technical resource panel from 2014-2016, and he currently serves as Chair of the Passthroughs and Real Estate Committee of the DC Bar Tax Section. Mark earned his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University, his J.D. from Wake Forest University, and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia.
