Michael H. Smith is an attorney in the Federal Trade Commission’s Technology Enforcement Division. Previously, Mr. Smith was a counsel in the Intellectual Property Department at WilmerHale, where he represented clients in patent, trade secret, antitrust, and other disputes, helped clients secure and license intellectual property rights, and provided strategic advice on intellectual property matters.

Mr. Smith is teaching in his personal capacity, not as a representative of the FTC, and any views he expresses are his own and not necessarily those of the Commission or any individual Commissioner.
