Michelle Rogers is Assistant Chief Counsel and Head of Legal Affairs for National Geographic Partners. She is responsible for all legal matters for the television division, including negotiations of entertainment deals and the day-to-day production-related legal affairs for NatGeo’s television content, including on Disney+. Prior to National Geographic, Professor Rogers held senior positions at Paramount Pictures Television and BET Networks. After leaving Paramount, Professor Rogers opened her own law firm, handling media, transactional and entertainment law matters. She also maintained a mind set coaching practice under her company, iEpiphany, Inc. Professor Rogers held the position of Chief of Staff for DC Government’s Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment where she oversaw Mayor Muriel Bowser’s initiative 202Creates as well as the Communications department. She is a member of the Maryland Bar and a graduate of the University of Maryland Law School where she was awarded “Best Moot Court Oral Advocate”. After receiving an academic scholarship to Spelman College for her undergraduate degree, Mrs. Rogers also received the Bertie award for “Best Lead Actress” in Atlanta theatre. Michelle also holds an MFA in Acting from the University of Pittsburgh where she received a teaching fellowship. She received her coaching certification at IPEC Coaching Institute. Currently, she resides in the District of Columbia with her husband and two children.
