Rajiv Venkataramanan is Chief Counsel to U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, President Pro Tempore of the U.S. Senate. Professor Venkataramanan advises Senator Leahy on a number of legal, legislative, and policy issues, including immigration, human rights, voting rights, government transparency, antitrust, intellectual property, nominations, and appropriations matters. He previously worked as an associate at Dechert LLP, where he founded a pro bono group dedicated to representing asylum seekers and refugees. Professor Venkataramanan holds a B.A. from Harvard University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he also obtained a Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies.
