Sally Pei is a Senior Associate in Arnold & Porter’s Appellate & Supreme Court practice. Ms. Pei’s practice covers a wide range of legal issues, but focuses in particular on transnational disputes and foreign sovereign immunity. Ms. Pei has been the principal briefwriter in numerous cases in federal and state courts on behalf of individuals, businesses, foreign sovereigns, and international entities. Ms. Pei also represents clients in international arbitration matters.

Ms. Pei is licensed to practice in California and Washington, DC. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Pei was a law clerk to the Honorable William A. Fletcher of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She also served as a Legal Adviser to Judge O. Thomas Johnson at the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal in The Hague. Ms. Pei holds a B.A. (Hons.) degree from the University of Cambridge in Arabic and French, and a J.D. from Yale Law School, where she received the Jerome Sayles Hess Fund Prize for excellence in the area of international law.
