B.A. with high honors, University of Maryland; J.D., Harvard Law School. Professor Jones has practiced environmental law since 1983. Her environmental law career began at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Environment and Natural Resources Division, where she was an Assistant Section Chief in the Environmental Enforcement Section. While at the Department, she litigated and supervised the litigation of civil enforcement cases under the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act. Since 1989, Professor Jones has been in private practice representing business entities and local governments in environmental compliance cases. She also has represented clients regarding environmental impact, endangered species, and historic and cultural resource issues related to transportation, mixed use, and brownfield projects.
