Sumeera Younis is the Chief of Operations of the Crypto Task Force at the Securities and Exchange Commission. She previously served as Policy Counsel to Commissioner Hester Peirce. Her work focuses on issues related to digital assets, fintech innovations, and blockchain technology. Sumeera joined the SEC in the Division of Investment Management in 2016, where she served as a staff attorney, Branch Chief, and Senior Special Counsel. Before that, she worked as Counsel at ProShare Advisors, where she was involved in the formation and registration of a range of ETF products. Earlier in her career, she worked at Dechert, where her practice focused on financial services.
Sumeera holds a Bachelor of Arts from Oakland University and a JD from the University of Michigan, where she served as an editor for the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review.
