Trisha Jhunjhnuwala is an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and practices in the Office’s Sex Offense and Domestic Violence Division. In that role, she has prosecuted numerous criminal cases and first-chaired several jury trials, motions hearings, and other in-court proceedings.
Prior to her role as an AUSA, Professor Jhunjhnuwala was senior litigation associate at Williams & Connolly LLP and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP. She focused her practice on complex civil and general commercial matters. She has represented corporations and individuals in state and federal courts and before federal government agencies. She has experience in a broad range of substantive areas, including antitrust multidistrict litigations, business contract disputes, trade secrets issues, and accounting malpractice claims. She also maintained a robust pro bono docket, in which she represented asylum seekers and domestic violence victims.
Professor Jhunjhnuwala grew up in New Jersey. She graduated from Rutgers University, cum laude, in 2012. She received her law degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2016. At Harvard, she was Managing Editor of the Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review. In 2018, Professor Jhunjhnuwala served as a law clerk to Judge Amy Berman Jackson of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
