Yana Kravtsova currently serves as Executive Vice President of Communications, Public and Environmental Affairs at Enviva, a US public company based in Bethesda, focused on manufacturing sustainable biomass wood pellets for export overseas as a renewable energy fuel.

Yana Kravtsova leads the team responsible for developing and implementing Enviva’s environmental permitting strategy that combines Enviva’s bold commitment to sustainability and the environment with practical, executable solutions that deliver benefits to the communities in which we operate, the environment, and the company’s business goals.

Yana is also responsible for building and overseeing Enviva’s corporate compliance program and policies and ensuring a culture of corporate compliance. Yana brings over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, leading and executing a broad range of high-profile and complex initiatives in the global arena of law, renewable energy, growth and investments, and corporate governance.

Prior to Enviva, Yana served as general counsel and senior vice president of a global renewable energy company TerraForm Global, after taking it public on Nasdaq and successfully selling it to Brookfield Asset Management. Prior to that, Yana served as legal head of renewable energy at Google growing its investment portfolio to 2.5GW of clean energy projects across the U.S., Europe, and Africa.

Prior to that, she practiced project finance and M&A law at the top global law firms in Washington, D.C. of Hunton & Williams, Latham & Watkins, and Clifford Chance US LLP.

Yana holds an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from American University, Washington College of Law, and a J.D. from Kuban State University, Krasnodar, Russia.
