Yi serves as the Executive Director and Adjunct Professor of Law for the Graduate and International Programs at Georgetown Law. She teaches U.S. Legal Research, Analysis and Writing, and the Foundations of American Law – both of which are approved courses by the New York Bar Exam to multilingual and internationally trained lawyers.
She has practiced law in Beijing, New York City, and Seattle, and she has clerked at the Supreme Court of the People’s Republic of China. She serves as General Counsel of a real estate development company publicly listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, overseeing risk and legal matters for its U.S. subsidiaries and projects.
In her early career, Yi advised high-net-worth individuals on immigration and legacy planning matters. She has spoken on legal translation issues in US-China business transactions and international litigation, and consults with clients, providing expert testimony on matters regarding Chinese law.
She is the founder of Master of Laws Interviews Project to tell stories of internationally trained lawyers who have successfully navigated the legal profession in the U.S. or built global legal careers.
