Georgetown University Law Center operates in six buildings: McDonough Hall, Hotung, Gewirtz Center, Ginsburg Sport & Fitness Center, E. B. Williams Law Library, and parts of the 500 First Street Building.
All Law Center guests are required to use a self check-in kiosk to register their visits and wear visitor badges at all times during their time on campus.
Visitors will now be able to use a kiosk located at three locations:
McDonough Hall 2nd Street entrance
Hotung Building Eleanor Holmes Norton Green entrance
500 First Street front entrance
The visitor check-in process applies only to external visitors to these five buildings operated by the Law Center: McDonough Hall, Hotung, Gewirtz Center, Ginsburg Sport & Fitness Center, and 500 First Street building. It is important to note that E.B. Williams Law Library operates under a separate access policy and procedure. Staff, faculty, students, and contractors with a Georgetown NetID will continue to access all the buildings using their GOCards.

Do event guests have to use a self check-in kiosk?
No, event and conference attendees, including members of the media, are not required to use a check-in kiosk. They should proceed to the designated event check-in table. Please contact the event host for check-in instructions.
Can I use a self check-in kiosk to check in as a Law Library guest?
No, guests to the E.B. Williams Law Library must go through a separate check-in process at the library’s security desk. The procedure is in place to maintain the library’s restricted access, ensuring that only authorized users can enter. For more information regarding who is eligible to use the library, visit https://www.law.georgetown.edu/library/who-may-use/
Can group visitors pre-register to save time and minimize contact?
To avoid bottlenecks at the self check-in kiosks, we have established a pre-registration process for group visitors. Hosts can initiate the process so that guests can complete their registration beforehand and simply scan their QR codes at one of the kiosks when they arrive, saving time and minimizing contact with the iPad kiosk.
If you are a Law Center staff or faculty member hosting a group of more than five external visitors, please submit a request through the Pre-Registration Setup for Georgetown Law Visitors form to set up group invitation and pre-registration at least one week prior to the visit date.
What does the pre-registration process involve?
The pre-registration process eliminates the need for visitors to input their information at a kiosk. Here is a summary of the process:
The Law Center host initiates guest pre-registration by submitting a request through the Pre-Registration Setup for Georgetown Law Visitors form. This action automatically generates a Service Desk ticket within the system.
An IST technician then assigns the ticket to a system administrator of the Sign-In Enterprise (SIE) application.
The SIE administrator proceeds to upload the visitor list or directly input visitor details into the system.
Subsequently, guests receive an email invitation enabling them to pre-register their upcoming visits. Concurrently, the host is notified through email whenever a guest completes their registration.
Upon completion of pre-registration, guests will receive a personalized QR code specific to their visit.
When guests arrive, they can scan their QR codes at a check-in kiosk, which subsequently prints their day stickers.
How do multi-day guests check-in at the kiosk?
Multi-day guests have two options for checking in using the kiosk. They can either pre-register and utilize a QR code for check-in, or they can check-in at the kiosk on a daily basis.
Law Center hosts wishing to pre-register multi-day guests by submitting a request through the Pre-Registration Setup for Georgetown Law Visitors form to set up the pre-registration at least one week prior to the visit date. It’s important to keep in mind that the visitor badges provided to multi-day guests are stickers with limited durability. As a result, guests will require a new sticker for each day of their visit. Regardless of the chosen option, guests will need to use a kiosk each day to print a new badge. The badge will prominently display the estimated departure time for that particular day.
How do visitors print a replacement badge?
Visitors can easily print a replacement badge by using a check-in kiosk. On the Welcome page, select SIGN IN and then proceed to the Selection page where the Reprint Badge option is available.
