Staff Parking Waitlist

There are limited parking spaces for staff at Georgetown Law and there is no guarantee of staff parking.
To sign-up for the Staff Parking Waitlist, please stop by the Parking Office, McDonough 154. Please note that there may be a considerable waiting period for staff parking. When available, parking offers are made based on seniority (hire date). Requests for exceptions to this policy are directed to the Law Center Dean.

All parkers must complete a registration form and receive a new hang tag.

Parking Registration

All vehicles must be registered with the Parking Office in order to park at Georgetown Law.

Hangtags

Hangtags are issued for the academic year and renewable at the beginning of the fall semester.

The hangtag must be displayed on the rearview mirror of the registered vehicle whenever the vehicle is parked in the Georgetown Law garages. More than one vehicle may be registered. However, only one hang tag will be issued.

Parking privileges are not transferable to any person other than the person who is registered to park.

Parking Options

McDonough Hall garage clearance is 6’5″, Gewirz garage clearance is 6’8″.

Faculty – McDonough Hall Garage, P1 Level “F” Spaces

Faculty members may sign-up for monthly Faculty parking through payroll deduction, and may park in either the McDonough or Hotung garages. If you wish to cancel your monthly parking payroll deduction, you must submit a cancellation form and return your parking hang tag to the Parking Office.

Faculty Daily – McDonough Hall Garage, P1 Level “F” Spaces

Faculty members who are not on monthly payroll deduction are to pay for daily parking by swiping their GOCard at the card reader at the parking booth entrance. To enter the garage, use the DAILY card reader on the left side. You will need to have adequate funds on your GOCard that equal to or above the daily parking rate.

Adjunct Faculty – McDonough Hall Garage, P1 Level “ADJ” Spaces

Adjunct Faculty are entitled to parking at no charge while they are at the Law Center on Law Center business. There is not sufficient parking available for Adjunct Faculty to park at the Law Center to conduct business not related to their teaching duties. Parking privileges will only be extended during the semester the Adjunct Faculty member is at term.

Staff AAP – McDonough Hall Garage, P1 Level, North

Staff Parking is available to full and part time staff in the McDonough Hall and Gewirz/Hotung garages through payroll deduction. Staff Parking – McDonough Hall Garage, P2 Level, North “A” Spaces

Staff Parking is available to full and part time staff in the McDonough Hall and Gewirz/Hotung garages through payroll deduction. Temporary Parking

For special circumstances, the Parking Office issues temporary permits to the university community. These permits are either used as a one-day or multi-day permit, and are marked accordingly.

Main Campus Parkers

Main Campus faculty and staff who pay for parking and have a valid GU parking permit may park in the McDonough Hall Garage free of charge (based on availability) when visiting the Law Center.

SmartBenefits

  • SmartBenefits is a pre-tax payroll deduction for transit (Metro, Metrobus, DCCirculator, and other regional bus systems, as well as Metro Parking. This benefit is available to all Georgetown Law faculty and staff who do not currently have a payroll deduction for parking at Georgetown Law.
  • SmartBenefits Transit- the maximum transit benefit allowed is $300.00 per month
  • SmartBenefits Parking – the maximum parking benefit allowed is $300.00 per month (SmartBenefits can only be used at Metro parking facilities)
  • To enroll in SmartBenefits, you’ll need to have a SmarTrip card that is registered in your name and you will need to enroll this benefit in GMS. Call Marshall in the Parking Office 202-662-9330 for assistance.
