New Online Programs
Executive Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation:
Starting in the fall of 2014, students who are not present in the Washington, DC area will have the opportunity to earn an Executive LL.M. degree in Taxation, which can be completed entirely by distance learning.The Executive LL.M. in Taxation offers students the same high-quality instruction and learning experience as the traditional LL.M. in taxation, but allows students the flexibility to complete the entire program online at their own convenience.The curriculum covers core subjects like corporate taxation, partnership taxation, income tax accounting, and taxation of property transactions, as well as specialized courses offered as part of our certificate programs in International Taxation and State and Local Tax.
Certificate in International Taxation: Georgetown's Certificate in International Taxation is now available online to students who wish to complete the program by distance learning.The online Certificate in International Taxation consists of 10 academic credits (five courses) that may be completed in conjunction with the Tax LL.M. or Executive Tax LL.M. degree program or on a stand-alone basis.
State and Local Tax (SALT) Certificate: The SALT Certificate program is now available online and may be completed by distance learning.The online SALT Certificate consists of 10 academic credits (five courses) that may be completed in conjunction with the Tax LL.M. or Executive Tax LL.M. degree program or on a stand-alone basis.
Foundations of Federal Income Taxation: Foundations of Federal Income Taxation is a twelve-hour online course intended for students who wish to enroll in Georgetown's LL.M. in Taxation or other tax certificate program and who have not previously taken a course in basic federal income taxation.This course covers certain foundational concepts in federal income tax law that are considered fundamental to more advanced courses offered through the Graduate Tax Program.The course is a zero-credit course which carries a tuition charge of $2,080.Students who wish to enroll in Georgetown's LL.M. in Taxation or other tax certificate program must sit for a 90-minute, 50-question multiple choice exam at the conclusion of the course and achieve a passing score of 35 out of 50 questions.
