4th Annual Conference on Law Enforcement Active Bystandership
August 11-12 , 11 am – 5 pm EDT
More about ABLE
Last June, in the wake of George Floydโs murder by a police officer, Georgetown Lawโs Innovative Policing Program (IPP) launched the ABLE Project to prevent policing harm and help change police culture.ย
ABLE teaches officers how to intervene to prevent other officers from causing harm, and promotes a police culture that supports active bystandership.ย
With the help of Georgetown colleagues, including those on ABLEโs Research Advisory Board, the project has grown beyond IPPโs expectations.ย
Today, 153 ABLE-certified law enforcement agencies are training over 100,000 officers serving nearly 62 million people in the United States. And Georgetown Law is poised to break new ground in researching what works in police transformation efforts.ย
