Summa Cum Laude

(Granted at the sole discretion of the faculty) – Number awarded: 1

Magna Cum Laude; Top 10%

(Based upon the cumulative grade-point average) – 3.73

Cum Laude; Top Third

(Based upon the cumulative grade-point average) – 3.56

Order of the Coif

Graduating students whose cumulative grade point averages place them in the top 10% of the class are elected to membership in the Order of the Coif.  To be eligible, a graduate must have completed at least 64 graded academic credits at the Law Center (effective beginning in the 2013-2014 academic year, credits earned at a transfer student’s previous law school are counted toward this minimum credit requirement).

Graduation with Distinction

Graduate degree students who earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher receive their diploma and transcript marked ‘With Distinction.’
