Explanation of Add/Drop/Waitlist Error Messages:

Closed – [n] Waitlisted There is a waitlist for the course. Follow the instructions above to add yourself to the waitlist.
Time conflict with [Course Number] Time conflict with the course listed.
Repeat count exceeds 0 You have already taken this course.
Duplicate Course with Section/Duplicate CRN You have or are already enrolled in the same or another section of this course.
Maximum hours exceeded Your credit limit has been reached or would go over if enrolled in the desired course.
Instructor Enrollment by Professor Permission only. Detailed instructions for requesting enrollment is provided in the course description available on the Curriculum Guide.
Student Not Eligible to Register Either the registration period is not available or a registration or student account block may be in place.
Prerequisite or Test Score Error This course has a prerequisite that you have not taken or has not been recorded properly.
Department Restriction You tried to enroll in the wrong section of a cross-listed course. If a course is cross-listed, it is listed in both the J.D. and Graduate schedules with space allocated to students in both programs. You should submit your request for the correct Course Subject based on your degree program—LAWJ for J.D. students; LAWG for
Graduate/LL.M. students; LAWD for Distance students.

Department Restriction

You tried to enroll in the wrong section of a cross-listed course.  If a course is cross-listed, it is listed in both the J.D. and Graduate schedules with space allocated to students in both programs.  MyAccess will only allow you to enroll in the correct Course Subject based on your degree program—LAWJ for J.D. students; LAWG for Graduate/LL.M. students; LAWD for Distance students.

Duplicate Course

Students cannot register for more than one section of a course.

Maximum Load

Students cannot be registered in more credit-hours than their maximum credit-hour limit.

Mutually Exclusive

Students cannot be registered in courses that are mutually exclusive.  These restrictions are explained in the individual online course descriptions.

Permission Required

Restricted Registration (By Permission) Courses are those for which a student cannot register through MyAccess due to program or departmental restrictions, application or professor-permission requirements, etc.

NOTE: If a course requires an application or the professor’s permission for enrollment, the requirement and instructions for applying will be noted in the Course Schedule. If no specific instructions are given, you must email the professor to gain admission to the course. Students will be manually enrolled in restricted registration courses.

Potential Time Conflict

During live-registration, you may waitlist for courses with time conflicts. However, once you win a seat a waitlist lottery seat, MyAccess will not allow you to enroll in courses with time conflicts- you will need to adjust your schedule accordingly prior to accepting your winning waitlist seat.

Prerequisite Not Met

If a course has a prerequisite, you will not be able to waitlist for or be enrolled in that course unless (1) you have satisfied the prerequisite or (2) you have submitted a written waiver from the professor to the Office of the Registrar at lawreg@georgetown.edu. Consult an academic advisor if you are unsure whether you have met the prerequisite(s).
