A Roadmap for Business, Human Rights and Sustainability in the Americas Webinar Tuesday, November 10 11:00 am Washington, DC / Bogota / Lima 1:00 pm Santiago de Chile In this webinar speakers will explore what the future may hold for the business and human rights agenda in light of the COVID-19 crisis. In these extraordinary times, how can governments effectively deliver on their duty to protect human rights? How can the private sector integrate human rights due diligence as part of sustainable business practices that respect and deliver tangible results for affected communities and individuals? To what extent are trade agreements and mandatory human rights due diligence requirements driving institutional change, investors’ advocacy and corporate governance reforms that provide effective remedies to affected communities and individuals? Business and Human Rights Law Career Paths Thursday, November 12 10:00 am Mexico City 11:00 am Washington, DC / Bogota 5:00 pm Geneva In this career paths session speakers will share different perspectives about law practice (public, private, non-profit, academic), based on their experience and trajectory in the field. We would also like aspiring lawyers and recent graduates to appreciate how exciting, varied, and non-linear careers in Business and Human Rights Law may be. Speakers will share insights on some of the current developments and challenges in the field. They will also offer advice on how to enter practice and succeed in the legal profession while making a significant and meaningful contribution to society.
