Professor Gornstein is the Executive Director of the Supreme Court Institute and a Professor from Practice at Georgetown Law Center. He previously worked at O’Melveny & Myers in the firm’s appellate practice, specializing in Supreme Court litigation. He was also a Lecturer at the Harvard Law School Appellate Advocacy Clinic. Before that, Professor Gornstein worked in the Department of Justice, first in the Appellate Section of the Civil Rights Division and then at the Solicitor General’s Office. Professor Gornstein has argued 38 cases in the Supreme Court and more than 30 cases in the courts of appeals. He has been recognized as one of the leading appellate lawyers in Chambers USA.
