Appellate Advocacy Division
Georgetown Law has fielded an internationally competitive student appellate advocacy team for over seven decades. The Appellate Advocacy Division of Barristers Council selects new members twice each academic year. Upperclassmen have the opportunity to compete in the Leahy Competition during the Fall Semester, while First Years are selected through the Beaudry Competition in their Spring Semester. Once selected, students compete in and later coach teams in regional, national and international competitions focused on all forms of appellate litigation.  The Appellate Advocacy Division of the Barristers’ Council boasts a history of competitive excellence and an impressive alumni network deeply involved in the highest levels of Appellate Litigation and Scholarship.
