Robocalls Block Request
Stopping robo-calls completely is nearly impossible, as these callers use advanced tactics like fake caller IDs and automated dialing. However, Zoom Telephony offers a feature called “Call Screening” that can help. When activated, this feature prompts all external callers (outside of Georgetown) to press any key before their call is connected. For example, if someone calls from outside to the dean’s office(202-662-XXXX), the system will prompt outside users that this number is using a call screening function and require you to press any key to connect your call. If it is a robo call, it will not come through and will effectively blocks most robo-calls.
Call Screening: Incoming direct external callers will be prompted to respond to a button to reach your office, callers who don’t respond will be disconnected.
If you like Call Screening Feature turned on please email caphelp@georgetown.edu with your zoom phone number and IST department will turn this feature on for you.
