Special Events Requests
Primary Areas for These Requests:
- Gewirz 12th Floor
- Hart Auditorium
Eleanor Holmes Norton Green, Paul R. Dean Green, and other external areas - Atriums and other public access areas
- Edward Bennett Williams Library Fifth Floor and SCI Moot Courtroom, Faculty Lounge, and Faculty Dining Room (limited availability and additional approval time required)
- Lecture halls, classrooms, and conference rooms hosting special, one-off, events
Attendees Consist of:
- External members of the general public
- VIPs in attendance
- High-profile / high-security detail speakers
Common Reservation Requirements:
- Extensive audio-visual services assistance
- Extensive facilities management assistance (includes dynamic furniture arrangement requests)
- Elaborate in-house or external catering services
- Alcoholic beverages served
With the exception of bar review companies, external requests are vetted through the Office of Special Events, which also coordinates activities for external organizations that are sponsored by internal faculty members and departments.
Special Events requests must be submitted a minimum of two weeks prior to an event.
Facilities Management and Audio Visual require a minimum notice of two weeks for their services. In order to ensure proper setup time, all Special Events should start no earlier than 9 am. Public Safety may need to schedule additional personnel depending on the event.
Gewirz 12
Maximum Capacity: 220
G12 is located on the 12th floor of the Sarah and Bernard Gewirz Student Center. The space is multi-purpose and can accommodate a variety of events, including lectures, drives, fairs, and dining events. The space is outfitted with audio items like microphones and speakers. While this space does not have overhead projection or music, you can request TV monitors and a laptop to display materials and play music. This space also houses a stage and press panel, as displayed above.
Hotung 2nd Floor Lobby
Maximum Capacity: 175
Hotung 2nd Floor Lobby is located in the Eric E. Hotung International Law Center Building, with the security entrance on the Eleanor Holmes Norton Green side of the building. The space is multi-purpose and can accommodate a variety of events, including lectures, drives, fairs, and catering. The space is outfitted with audio items like microphones and speakers. While this space does not have overhead projection or music, you can request TV monitors and a laptop to display materials and play music.
Hotung Faculty Dining Room
Maximum Capacity: 64
Hotung Faculty Dining Room is located in the Eric E. Hotung International Law Center Building, past the Hotung 2nd Floor Lobby, as you enter from the Eleanor Holmes Norton Green side. This space is primarily recommended for dining events and meetings. DThe space is outfitted with audio items like microphones and speakers, and has overhead projection for materials that need to be displayed.
