Lauren Dubin Alumni Ambassador Program
Launched in 2026, the Lauren Dubin Alumni Ambassador Program is an initiative administered by Georgetown Law's Office of Public Interest and Community Service (OPICS). The program strengthens the bonds between students and alumni by creating meaningful opportunities for networking, career exploration, and community building across Georgetown Law's extensive public interest community.

Named in honor of OPICS co-founder, Lauren Dubin, and her 38 years of service to Georgetown Law – and generously funded by alumni and friends of OPICS – the program reflects Lauren’s enduring belief that student-alumni relationships are among the most powerful catalysts for careers in public service. By connecting students with alumni who have forged diverse paths in the public interest, the Alumni Ambassador Program helps inspire, support, and guide the next generation of advocates committed to justice and service.
What is an Alumni Ambassador?
Lauren Dubin Alumni Ambassadors are Georgetown Law J.D. graduates who volunteer to share their time and experiences with current students exploring careers in public interest law.
How Can I Connect with Current Alumni Ambassadors?
Students and alumni can search the list of current Alumni Ambassadors using their NetID. The Ambassador Directory is searchable by region, practice area, employer type, and other criteria to help students identify alumni whose experiences align with their interests.
How Do I Become an Alumni Ambassador?
We invite all Georgetown Law J.D. alumni who are interested in supporting students exploring public interest careers to register to become Alumni Ambassadors using this form. Ambassadors are listed in our dedicated directory and are expected to participate in at least one student engagement opportunity each academic year, such as:
- Virtual or in person informational meetings with students
- The Alumni Ambassador Virtual Conversation Series (interactive sessions with groups of students)
- OPICS student programs (e.g. Public Sector World of Choices, 1L Virtual Public Sector Mock Interview Program)
- Ad hoc, practice area inspiration sessions, etc.
Students and alumni with questions about the program can contact Hamida Owusu, Associate Director, Public Sector Alumni Services at hbo2@georgetown.edu(This link opens in a new tab). Â
