Margaret Gerety is a Director in the Office of J.D. Academic Services. In addition to providing academic advice to students, Margaret is responsible for administering the first-year course, Law in a Global Context (“Week One”), and producing the Georgetown Law Student Handbook of Academic Policies. Margaret received her A.B. from Harvard College and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. After law school, Margaret practiced as a senior tax associate in the Boston and D.C. offices of WilmerHale. Her practice focused on corporate and partnership transactions, executive compensation, employee benefits, and tax-exempt organizations. While in law school, Margaret was a teaching assistant for the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School and served as the executive editor of the Harvard Negotiation Law Review.
