Leahy Competition

The Appellate Advocacy Division holds the Leahy Competition each fall. Leahy is open to all 2L, 2E, and 3E students. The deadline to register for the competition is September 19, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

Information Sessions

The Appellate Advocacy Division will host a virtual (Zoom) information session on September 11, 2025 at 6 PM.

We will also be hosting an in-person information session in McDonough 110 on September 18, 2025 at 6 PM. You can also join our mailing list for updates and registration reminders.

How To Register

Registration has two steps. You must:

1. Submit this Leahy Competition Registration Form, AND

2. Pay the $30 registration fee via this Eventbrite Page, or obtain a fee waiver. Registration closes on September 19 at 11:59 PM. Registration and payment (or waiver) must be completed by this deadline.

To request a fee waiver due to financial hardship, please email Anee Nguyen at hn261@georgetown.edu.
You must request a waiver by September 18 at 11:59 PM.

Competition Timeline

Competitors will have access to the 2025 Leahy Case Packet beginning on September 20. Written briefs are due on September 29.
Oral arguments will begin on October 6. The 56th William E. Leahy Finals will be argued on October 15. With questions, email the Leahy Directors at leahy@georgetown.edu.
