We are now accepting paper submissions for our second annual Legal Philosophy and Constitutional Theory Junior Scholar Conference. This conference will take place from Thursday, March 19th to Friday, March 20th, 2026 at the Georgetown University Law Center.

This call is open to aspiring academics or junior scholars who have been in a tenure-track position (or its equivalent) for no more than 10 years.  The paper should be focused on issues at the intersection of legal philosophy and constitutional theory. Selected scholars will receive:

  • dedicated commentary from a senior scholar in their field;
  • travel expenses for the conference; and
  • a $1,500 honorarium.

Interested scholars should submit the following:

  • detailed proposal of at least 2,000 words outlining the planned article, though complete draft articles are also welcome; and
  • a CV.

Draft papers will be due by February 19th, 2026. Published articles and those in the process of publication are not eligible.

To complete your submission, please complete the Google Form linked here. Submissions are due by 11:59 PM EST on August 30, 2025. Papers will be selected through a blind external review process.

This conference will be co-hosted by the Georgetown Institute for the Study of Markets and Ethics, and the Georgetown Center for the Constitution.

We encourage submissions from those looking to share their research, receive guidance, and network with fellow scholars.

Please reach out to Arielle Vertsman <av949@georgetown.edu> with any questions.
