We are pleased to invite paper submissions for the Third Annual Legal Philosophy and Constitutional Theory Conference, to be held March 19–20, 2027, at the University of Surrey, co-sponsored by the Georgetown Center for the Constitution.

The conference exists to give authors rigorous, constructive feedback on works in progress. Each selected paper is paired with a senior scholar in the author’s field, who prepares dedicated commentary on the paper; an open discussion with the full group follows. Authors of selected papers will have their travel to England covered. Selected papers will also be considered for publication in Jurisprudence, the peer-reviewed journal of legal and political thought.

We welcome submissions in constitutional theory, legal philosophy, and related fields from scholars at any career stage. We particularly welcome papers concerning artificial intelligence: AI and human consciousness; and AI, expression, and conscience. Papers outside these themes remain fully eligible. Special consideration will be given to papers submitted by junior scholars, but papers submitted by any scholars of any seniority will be eligible this year. Papers will be selected through a process of blind review.

Paper Guidelines

• Project stage: We welcome unpublished drafts developed enough to benefit from focused commentary, but early enough that you can still incorporate what you hear.
• Draft flexibility: The version you submit by the initial deadline need not be final. Selected presenters will have time to revise before submitting the version circulated to commentators and participants.
• Anonymization: Because review is blind, please remove your name and other identifying information from the paper you submit.
