Ethics Amicus Briefs re: Executive Orders Targeting Law Firms
ICAP partnered with the Harvard Election Law Clinic to represent a group of legal ethics professors in filing four amicus briefs in support of law firms who have been targeted by executive orders blacklisting them. We argue that firms entering into agreements with the government to avoid getting blacklisted severely imperil their lawyers' ability to fulfill their duty of loyalty to their clients and create a perception of violating federal anti-bribery laws.
