OCS and OPICS have developed a slate of programming for March and April – the OCS Private Sector Spotlight Series and the OPICS Public Sector Spotlight Series – to educate you about the legal market and prepare you for post-1L recruiting.
The Private Sector Series focuses on the 2L/3E summer search and features overviews of geographic markets by legal recruiting experts; practice area lunches; networking receptions; and a capstone symposium on corporate/finance practice. The Private Practice Series kicks off on Monday, March 2 at 3:30pm in McDonough 202 with “Working in a Law Firm: What You Need to Know,” a presentation by Professor Mitt Regan of Georgetown Law’s Center for the Study of the Legal Profession.
The Public Sector Series will focus on both 2L/3E summer and post-graduate public sector options and will include overviews of upcoming on- and off-campus public sector job fairs; information on pro bono programs; a preview of post-grad public interest fellowships; and a candid discussion to help you make decisions regarding journal membership and balancing public and private career paths.
