National Security Law: What is it? Who pays for it? Why? Thurs., March 31st at 6pm
Join the Bar Association of the District of Columbia’s National Security Law, Policy & Practice Committee for a panel discussion on Thursday, March 31st at 6:00pm at O’Melveny & Myers LLP (1625 Eye St, NW). Light reception to follow.
"National Security Law" is now taught in law schools, is on the websites of law firms big and small, and is even a Committee of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia. But outside of the high-profile areas that make the news - detainee issues, renditions, and FISA reform, areas dominated by government lawyers, the practice area is still forming. If "National Security Law" is a business practice area for lawyers, it is time to assess what it is. Who are the clients? Why would they pay for a "national security lawyer?" This panel will address those questions.
