Pathways to Government: Presidential Management Fellows Program Information Session
Tuesday, October 30, 12:30-1:30 pm, McDonough 140

Are you interested in working for the federal government? Learn more about the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program and hear directly from Georgetown Law Center alums who found positions as PMFs.
What is the PMF program? This is a prestigious two-year paid fellowship program working with Federal Government agencies. PMF assignments include domestic and international issues, public policy, public administration, technology, science, criminal justice, health, financial management, and many other fields in support of public service programs. Note: This program is not designed to place applicants in legal positions; rather, this is a program for those interested in management, public policy, and government leadership positions. However, PMFs do rotations through other divisions or agencies, and Georgetown Law alumni have successfully moved into legal positions upon competition of their PMF commitments. Typical PMF placements for law graduates include policy analyst, budget analyst, tax law specialist, and other non-attorney positions.

Free DC Bar Event - Environment and Energy Law Career Panel

Please join the DC Bar on Tuesday, October 23rd at 6pm for a panel discussion of environmental career paths and opportunities. Panelists from government, non-profit , and private practice backgrounds will field questions on what to expect and how to make the most of internships and work experience, how to prepare for a position with their employer, and pitfalls to avoid in the job search process.  Light refreshments will be provided.

This evening program is cosponsored by the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Section and the George Washington University Law School's Environmental Law Association.

Veterans Law Event TOMORROW, October 16

The Military Law Society and OCS are co-sponsoring a presentation on Veterans Law, including a discussion about the history of veterans benefits, elements of a compensation claim, and opportunities at the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC).  The event will take place tomorrow, October 16, from 12:20-1:20pm, in McDonough room 328.  Pizza will be served.

Four of the six new law clerks at the CAVC have attended this program, offered to DC area law schools, and summer internship applications are due in January – so the program is especially valuable for students looking to learn more about internship and clerkship opportunities at the CAVC.
