Event Tomorrow: Presenting Your Professional Self

The Corporate Law Association and Women’s Legal Alliance are co-sponsoring an event on Presenting Your Professional Self this Wednesday (tomorrow), November 28th, from 4-6pm in McDonough 160.  It will include a panel discussion on networking and a presentation by Banana Republic on the basics of building a professional wardrobe.  Attendees will receive great advice and access to exclusive discounts!  Dinner will also be served.  Please contact wla@law.georgetown.edu with questions.

Association for Legal Services Technology and Innovation

A group of students are starting the Association for Legal Services Technology and Innovation (ALSTI), a student group focused on the intersection of technology and the legal services industry. The group will work to identify pro bono projects that combine law and technology, bring legal technologist speakers to campus, host career events that highlight positions that combine law and technology, and facilitate discussions about how technology is changing the practice of law. No programming knowledge is required to join the group or attend events. For a practical example of how technology might be used in the legal industry, visit the Same Sex Marriage Adviser site that was created by students last year in the Technology, Innovation, and Law Practice seminar which culminated with the Iron Tech Lawyer Competition.
