Associate Director, Small & Medium Firm Initiatives and Diversity & Inclusion Liaison
Kia is the Associate Director of Small & Medium Firm Initiatives and comes to the Office of Career Strategy from McKenna Long and Aldridge, LLP (MLA), where she was the firm-wide Manager of Professional Development. At MLA, Kia was actively involved in the development and implementation of firm-wide partner and associate training programs, as well as the annual attorney evaluation process. She also managed the new and lateral associate orientation and integration program. Prior to joining MLA, Kia was the Senior Coordinator of Attorney Development at Paul Hastings, LLP. Before her work in law firms, Kia was the Assistant Director of Externship Programs at the University of Baltimore School of Law and was the Director of Student Recruitment at The George Washington University Law School. Additionally, upon graduating from GW Law in 2001, Kia held two judicial clerkships at the Superior Court for the District of Columbia. Following her clerkships, she went on to be Legislative Counsel for the Committee on Human Services for the City Council for the District of Columbia.
