Charles A. Jones

B.A. University of Virginia; J.D. cum laude, Georgetown University Law Center. Professor Jones is a partner at Troutman Sanders LLP, where he specializes in litigation with an emphasis on insurance coverage matters in the directors and officers, professional liability, mass tort, environmental, and commercial general liability coverage arenas. In addition, he has represented attorneys and accountants in connection with allegations of malpractice and maintains a general commercial litigation practice. While his practice is national in scope, he has handled a number of matters in the local courts in DC, Virginia and Maryland. Professor Jones has provided pro bono legal representation in a number of areas and his work on behalf of victims of racial discrimination was recognized by the Washington Lawyers Committee. He currently is working to help establish a school in Western Kenya. Professor Jones has held a number of administrative positions at his firm including serving as a mentor to associates and as the Hiring Partner for a number of years. He currently is a member of the Recruiting Committee at Troutman Sanders. Professor Jones served as a law clerk to Judges Robert Smith and Stewart Davis.
